Technical training
As one of LIBSAs business units, Training and Development continued to address important issues of business and technical skills development in line with the provincial Growth and Development Strategy.
The incorporation of the Northern Training Trust into LIBSA heralded an exciting moment in the skills development landscape in the Limpopo Province by ensuring that LIBSA is enabled to provide both business and technical training courses to entrepreneurs/ learners in a more collaborated way.
During the first quarter of 2009 LIBSA developed a strategy to address skills development imperatives for entrepreneurs/learners businesses in the province. LIBSA obtained the accreditation from Services SETA and the institution has made progress in procuring equipments for the purpose of accrediting all the training centres
In the 2009 financial LIBSA achieved 100 % success on its trade testing programme. The Business Unit successfully prepared learners for trade testing as follows: 3 x plumbing, 6 x welding, 2 x carpentry, 1x bricklaying and 20 x electrical.
As part of the ongoing development and improvement of our services, LIBSA has started to create linkages with INDLELA to identify opportunities to enhance the impact and focus of our programmes. It is our fervent wish that this Business Unit could find its place in contributing towards optimizing our provinces human capital potential. The delivery of business training to entrepreneurs is vital to the long term survival of SMMEs and Co-operatives in South Africa and Limpopo Province in particular. Over the years that LIBSA provided this service to entrepreneur, more and more businesses are showing signs of sustainability and profitability. With a dedicated team of training facilitators LIBSA ensure that both business and technical training should provide total skills development solutions to all existing and aspiring entrepreneurs/ learners in the province.
